Ronald Grimes Obituary

Ronald William Grimes, 75, of Glenwood passed away Thursday, December 10, following a brief illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Sunday, December 13, at Greater Vision Church Cemetery (formerly Union Church Cemetery), Alamo.

A native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County, Mr. Grimes was the son of the late Ronald Byron "Bill" and Mattie Pearl Graham Grimes.  He was a retired deputy with the Wheeler County Sheriff's Office and was married to the late Shirley B. Grimes and later engaged to the late Barbara Kight.  Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by brothers and sister-in-law,
Rabun Grimes and Hilton and Reba Clark.

Survivors include his children, Lisa (Eddie) Floyd of Alamo, Suzanne Grimes of Glenwood and Ronda (Tim) Dayhoff of Helena; stepchildren, Cindy Steverson of Douglas and Dell (Becky) Kight of Alston; sister, Juanita Graham of Jacksonville; brothers Johnny Grimes and Billy Grimes, both of Alamo; sister-in-law, Glenese Grimes of Jesup; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made toward the funeral expense to Vaughn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 398, McRae, GA 31055.
