Dr. Paul Connell Pierce, 86, of McRae, died suddenly on Thursday June 23 A funeral service will be held at 3:00P.M., Sunday, June 26, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial at Telfair Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
A native of Reynolds, Dr. Pierce was the son of the late Lonnie Hugh Pierce and the late Sallie Mae Connell Pierce. He was the owner of Ocmulgee Drugs for many years and was a member of McRae United Methodist Church. Dr. Pierce graduated from Southern School of Pharmacy at Mercer University, played baseball with the Georgia Crackers and later coached local baseball and softball teams. He was a Lions Club member and was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Kay Allen Pierce and a grandson, Turner Lee Clements.
Survivors include children, Alan (Debbie) Pierce, Lisa (Craig) Clements and Carl Pierce, all of McRae; sister-in-law, Sue Pierce of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Sam (Erica) Pierce, Anna Ellyse Pierce, Noah Pierce, Bennett Clements, Erin (Walker) Stanley, Brock Clements and Abby Clements; and a great-granddaughter, Kaia Josephine Pierce.
