Martha Jane Purvis Stovall, 78, of Alamo, died Wednesday, May 19, following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00P.M., Saturday, May 22, at Vaughn Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 3:30P.M., at Alamo Memorial Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County, Mrs. Stovall was the daughter of the late Elbert B. and Mattie White Purvis. She was a member of Alamo First Baptist Church and for many years was a sewing machine operator with Oxford of Alamo. Mrs. Stovall was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Stovall Young.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Clinton Stovall; son-in-law, Tony (Darlene) Young; brothers, Don (Mildred) Purvis and Tommy (Frances) Purvis; grandson, Tyler Young; and several nieces and nephews, including Tammy (Tim) White and Rusty Purvis.
