Jettye S. (Sawyer) Anderson

Mrs. Jettye S. Anderson died on the evening of March 31, 2022. She was born in McRae, GA and was the daughter of the late Jessie B. and Ruth Sawyer of McRae-Helena, GA. Mrs. Anderson graduated from Telfair County High School in 1959 and the Macon Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1962. She worked at the old Macon Hospital in Macon, GA and Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX before returning to McRae-Helena and working at Telfair County Hospital until 1988. She was a member of the McRae First United Methodist Church, but lived the last several years of her life in Nashville, TN.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children Heather (Jake) Jones, Dr. Allen S. (Priscilla) Anderson, Dr. Marsha Anderson (Red McFarland), Cheryl (Byron) Galway, and Gail (Ardell) Mitchell, and her granddaughter Sawyer Anderson. She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 33 years, Henry L. Anderson.

A funeral service was held on April 8, 2022 at 11:00 am. Remembrances may be made to Abe’s Garden Community (www.abesgarden.org).
