Clarence Edwin Cook, 99, of McRae died suddenly on Monday, August 15. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00P.M., Friday, August 19, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Rhine. A gathering of family and friends will be held following the service.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Cook was the son of the late Marshall O. and Dorcas Lancaster Cook. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Cook was a proud U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Jewell Bowen Cook, and a son, Clarence Gary Cook.
Survivors include his son, Andy (Shannon) Cook of McRae; brother, Emmitt (Helen) Cook of McRae and several nieces and nephews.
