Obituary

Larry Ricks, 81, of McRae, died Sunday, October 9, following a brief illness.  A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, October 15, at Telfair Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is Tuesday, 6:00 – 8:00P.M.

A native of Wheeler County, Mr. Ricks was the son of the late Nolan Eason Ricks, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Herrin Ricks.  Of Baptist faith, he was a retired electrician with Putzel Electric of Albany.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joy Ricks of McRae; children, Linda G. (Jesse) Adams of Daytona Beach, FL, Steve (Michelle) Ricks of McRae and Karen (Emmett) Patterson of Lumber City; brothers and sisters, Willadene Stokes of Alamo, Venita (Jim) Bork of Mt. Vernon, Nora Brewer of Uvalda, Ronnie (Kerry) Ricks of Mt. Vernon, Mackie (Margena) Ricks of Alamo and Shannon Evans of Glenwood; grandchildren, Misty Johnson, Shawn Fitzgibbons, Ryan Griffin, Evan Ricks and Daniel Patterson.  Five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
