Ruby Carol Clements Strom, 77, of McRae, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, May 28, following a lengthy illness. A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00P.M., Sunday, May 31, at Telfair Memorial Gardens with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
A native of Telfair County, Mrs. Strom was the daughter of the late Joseph Pugh Clements and the late Jettie Mae Connell Clements of Jacksonville. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother she enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mrs. Strom was very creative, always making things for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or any other special occasion that arose for the members of the church. Being a minister's wife, she loved helping at the church with bake sales and cooking dinners as fundraisers for the church. She also loved visiting and comforting sick members with her husband whenever needed. Mrs. Strom was preceded in death by three sisters, Vera Thomas, Doris Bowen and Emilye Spires, all of Macon.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Reverend Julian Strom of McRae; four children, Gina Howell (Richard) of Savannah, Violet Little (Toby) of Grovetown, Angel Medders (Charlie) of Hazlehurst, and Wally Strom (Joyce) of Nashville; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
