Carey Ellis Green

Carey Ellis Green, 75, of McRae, passed away Thursday, October 28, following a brief illness.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00P.M., Sunday, October 31, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00-8:00P.M., Saturday, at Vaughn Funeral Home and at 2:00P.M., Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Green was the son of the late John Wesley Green and the late Jerusa Lee Cravey Green.  A very active member of Macedonia Baptist Church, he was a longtime employee of Rainbow Irrigation.  Mr. Green was preceded in death by a brother, John Green.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Carr Green of McRae; sons, Johnny Ellis (Donna) Green, Sr. of Rebecca, Steve Grady (Sandra) Green of Cook, TN, Harold Wesley Green and Carey Lewis Green, both of McRae; brothers and sisters, Curtis (Dannie) Green of Warner Robins, Emerald Green of Ft. Valley, Henry (Martha) Green of Dawsonville, Ernie (Donna) Green of Atlanta, Marsha Brown and Catherine Green, both of Butler; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
