Betty Jane White Coleman Hanson, 82, of McRae, died Sunday, April 5, following a lengthy illness. A private graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, April 9, at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Hanson’s nephew, Rev. William Henry “Billy” Coleman, and Rev. The daughter of the late Julian and Jessie Louise Caldwell White, she was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Ms. Hanson was a former seamstress at Roydon Wear, a salesperson at Allied Department Store and B.C. Moore’s and a bus driver and custodian for Telfair County Headstart. She was preceded in death by daughters, Melbra Mickel and Cathy Coleman; granddaughter, Miranda “Hope” Mickel; and brothers, Ferrell White and Gene White.
Survivors include her daughters, Paulette Coleman (Terry) Brown of Lumber City and Melanie Coleman (Robert) Dover of Dublin; brothers and sisters, Ann Combs of Conyers; Frances Spires of Sandersville; Jerrell White of Gresston; and Ronnie White of McRae; and grandchildren, Amy Michelle Jones, Gina Alys Dover, Hal Joseph Mickel, Jessy Cole Dover, Joshua Daniel Coleman and Sarah Beth Cooper. Nine great-grandchildren and fourteen nieces and nephews also survive.
