Weston "Peck" Evans

Weston Eugene "Peck" Evans, 88, of McRae, died Wednesday, June 27, following a brief illness.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Friday, June 29, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

A native of Dodge County, Mr. Evans was the son of the late Monroe Evans and the late Beulah Mae Wrye Evans Powell.  He was a salesman and co-owner of Evans, Grimes & Gillen Meat Processing Plant.  A member of McRae Presbyterian Church, Mr. Evans was a former Jaycee, former city councilman and held membership at the local VFW, Helena Masonic Lodge and Al Sihah Temple.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Thomas; sister, Gwen Purvis; and a brother, Claxton Evans.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Janet Ashley Evans of McRae; daughters, Kim (Andy) Fowler and Kathy Thomas, both of McRae, and Brenda Farlow of Alexandria, AL; brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Powell of Helena; grandchildren, Christopher (Ashlen) Fowler, Michael (Samantha) Fowler, Jordan Thomas, Evan Farlow, Erin Farlow and Eric Farlow; and great-grandchildren, Jase Thomas, Andrew Fowler, Weston Fowler and Charlotte Fowler.
