Wendell Allen White, Sr.

Wendell Allen White, Sr., born on February 15, 1937, in Telfair County, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 28, 2026, surrounded by loving family. His departure marks the closing of a life well-lived, dedicated to family, faith, and integrity.

Wendell is lovingly remembered by those whose lives he touched most deeply. His beloved wife, Mattie White, stands as a testament to a long and devoted partnership. Together, they built a family founded on support, laughter, and enduring affection. Wendell leaves behind his children: Stan White and his wife Jennifer, Wendell White, and Debbie White. The bond between Wendell and his siblings was profound; he is survived by his brothers, Sherman White, Herman (Inez) White, and Jim Ed White, as well as his sisters, Merline Beasley, Barbara (George) Berrong, and Penny (Mike) Walker.

Wendell’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Cale White, Callie White, Rainy (John) Machado, Jessie (Michelle) White, Rae (Clint) McCranie, Jody White, Dusty White, and Madison (George) Bady; sixteen great-grandchildren and devoted caregiver, Elma “Crip” Solomon.

Preceding him in death are his father, J.C. White, his mother, Agnes Lovett White, and his brother, Walter White.

Throughout his life, Wendell exemplified strength of character, kindness, and wisdom. Those fortunate enough to know him will remember his generous heart and unwavering values. Friends and extended family alike found in Wendell a reliable confidant and a steadfast friend. His legacy lives on not only through blood, but also through the countless lives he enriched with his friendship, advice, and quiet acts of goodness.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 30, at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, Georgia.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Rockwell Baptist Church, Milan, Georgia.
