Tommy Redmond Yawn, Jr.

Tommy Redmond Yawn, Jr., 62, of Rhine, died Sunday, August 25, following a lengthy illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, August 27, at Rockwell Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00-8:00P.M., Monday, at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Yawn was the son of the late Tommy R. Yawn, Sr. and the late Alma Harrington Yawn.  A graduate of West Telfair Academy, he was formerly a correctional officer with Telfair State Prison and a truck driver for Watkins Farms.  Mr. Yawn was a member of Rockwell Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry K. Yawn of Rhine; children, Daniel Yawn and Mandy Yawn, both of Milan; sister, Nancy (Jim) Starr of Haddock; grandchildren, Marissa Hall, Gabrielle Hall, Ashley Yawn and Andrew Yawn; and several nieces and nephews.
