Tommie (Boney) Jones

Tommie Boney Jones, 87, of Rhine, died Sunday, January 10, following a brief illness.  A private burial will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with a memorial service to be announced at a later date.

A native and lifelong resident of Rhine, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late George Durward Boney and the late Dixie Mozelle Swords Boney.  She was a retired nurse from Telfair Regional Hospital and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar "Jimmy" Jones; a son, Chris O'Steen; sisters, Louvenia A. Boney Poe and Marouise Boney Lister; niece, Teri Lister; and nephew, Steve Poe.

Survivors include her children, Connie O. (Randy) Davis of Hazlehurst, Lisa E. (Bruce) Brock of Alma and Andrew (Deonne) Jones of Eastman; grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Best, Dixie Best, Kyle Maddox, Kerri Maddox, Camryn Jones and Brandon Jones; great-grandchildren, Dylan Best, Laramie Hughes, Dalton Best, Brayden Maddox, Layla Sheffield and Brody Best; and special nieces and nephew, Denise Sheffield, David Poe and Cheryl Blackwell.
