Shannon Alicia Cook

Shannon Alicia Cook, born on July 6, 1973, in McRae, Georgia, was a loving and kind individual whose life touched many. She left this world on March 1, 2026, in Helena, Georgia, after a courageous battle with an extended illness.

Shannon will be deeply missed by her beloved mother, Lynda Vaughn of Helena, and her cherished aunts, Patsy Vaughn of McRae and Nancy (Tom) Wright of Toccoa. She is also survived by her loyal dog, Lila, who brought her joy and companionship. Shannon’s legacy continues through several cousins and friends who held her dear to their hearts. Her husband, Andy Cook, and father, Nathaniel Melvin, preceded her in death.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the funeral service at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 3, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service and burial will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Shannon's memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
