Sadie Murrell (Wooten) Strom

Sadie Murrell Wooten Strom, 86, of McRae, died Monday, August 24, following a brief illness.  A funeral service will be held at 4:00P.M., Wednesday, August 26, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial at the Sandhill Cemetery.  Visitation is Tuesday, from 6:00-8:00P.M.

A native and lifelong resident of McRae, Ms. Strom was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lola Horton Wooten and the wife of the late George Carl “Runt” Strom.  She was a seamstress at Roydon Wear and worked with Telfair County Schools, all while helping to operate their service station.  Ms. Strom was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Strom.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue Harrelson of Jacksonville and Dianne Register of McRae; grandchildren, Daniel (Lucy) Harrelson, Sabrina (Bryan) Rentz, Danny (Marisa) Larkey, Kimberly (Brian) Larkey-Poole and Stacey (Victoria) Register; and great-grandchildren, Erin Larkey, Rylee Poole, Ava Harrelson, Georgia Harrelson, Cameron Register, Keely Larkey, Bryson Rentz, Sara Rentz, Ethan Rentz and Chloe Stiver.
