Ruby Elizabeth Horne Towns, 66, of McRae, died Tuesday, November 19. Funeral services will be held at 1:00P.M., Friday, November 22, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in the Harrelson Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 6:00-9:00P.M.
A native of Telfair County, Mrs. Towns was the daughter of the late Troy Horne, Sr. and Mollie Harrelson Horne. She was a member of Community Church of God and was an LPN with Taylor Telfair Regional Hospital. Mrs. Towns was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Towns and a brother, Troy Horne, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Paul Towns, McRae; children, Paul Allen (Susan) Towns, McRae and Nancy Jo Harris (John K. Williams), Ambrose; brothers and sisters, Lemmie (Lavonia) Horne, Joann (Dillon) Brown and Mary Sue Purvis, Alamo; Bobby Horne, Randal (Marylyn) Horne and Wauweeze Dennis, Helena; Ralph (Jean) Horne, Albany, and Bernard (Shirley) Horne, Milan; sister-in-law, Madgeline (Duane) Connor, Helena; and grandchildren, Kayla Harris, Jerry Allen Harris, Brian Towns, Heather Towns and Cole Towns; ex-son-in-law, Jerry Wayne Harris, Jr., Hoboken; and beloved pet, Taco Bell.
