Roy Rawlins

Roy Rawlins, 84, of McRae, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, following an extended illness.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Rawlins was the son of the late Olan and Dollie Watson. An Army veteran and a member of Bethlehem (Sandhill) United Methodist Church, he, along with his late wife, Betty Spires Rawlins, owned and operated the Z-Mart, a local convenience store and flower shop.

Survivors include his children, Kay Rawlins of McRae, Don Rawlins and Chris Rawlins, both of Brooklet; brother, Omri Rawlins of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jacob Rawlins, Sara Rawlins, Sam Rawlins, Blake Weatherly and Brandon Weatherly; and great-grandchildren, Ella Brook Weatherly and Aurora Bailey Weatherly.
