Rosemary Miller Pope, 76, of McRae died peacefully at her home on April 4.
A native of Albany, Ms. Pope was the daughter of the late J.B. Miller, Jr. and the late Louise Cochran Miller. She was the wife of the late James “Jimmy” William Pope, Jr. Retired after 31 years as a first grade teacher at Telfair County Primary School, Ms. Pope also served on the Telfair County Library Board and was a member of the Pioneer Historical Society and Telfair-Wheeler Retired Educators. An active member of McRae United Methodist Church, she enjoyed being involved in United Methodist Women and was a Girl Scout troop leader for many years.
Survivors include her children, Sara Elizabeth (Kelly) Spires of McRae, James W. (Hope) Pope, III of Milledgeville; and John Thomas (Nicholle) Pope of McRae; sister, Sara Miller (Jimmy) Shadinger of Carrollton; grandchildren, Mary Beth (Justin) Williams, Kelly Royce Spires, Jr., James William Pope, IV, Jackson Marshall Pope and Colton Jax-Miller Pope; and great-grandchildren, Jase Williams, Jeb Williams and Madylynn Pope.
A drive-by visitation will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, April 11, at the Pope residence, 27, Mimosa Ln., McRae, GA 31055. As health safety remains a major concern, we, along with the family, ask that everyone remain in their vehicles as you show your love and support for this family. Everyone is also encouraged to visit and sign our online guestbook as there will not be a traditional register book.
