Ronald Cullen Reaves

Ronald Cullen “Ron” Reaves, 56, of Dublin, died Thursday, September 9, in Aiken, SC, following a lengthy illness.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, September 11, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae. Visitation is Friday, 6:00 - 8:00P.M.

A native of Telfair County, Mr. Reaves was the son of Rena Towns Reaves and the late Ronnie Reaves.  He was a 1983 graduate of Telfair County High School where he played football and baseball.  He graduated from Ben Hill Irwin Technical College as a machinist, then working with Roper where he advanced into tool and die and model-making.  While there, Mr. Reaves attended Brewton-Parker College, earning a business degree.  He then began his banking career with The Security State Bank, before also working at Bank of Dudley, Bank of Cochran, and Capital City Bank of Dublin.  A sister, Stacey Reaves Wilson preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Rena Reaves of McRae; brother, Matt (Kathy) Reaves of Eastman; niece, Brooke Wilson of Milledgeville; and cousins.
