Robert Roy Roberson, Sr.

Robert Roy Roberson, Sr., 80, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, September 22, following a lengthy illness.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00P.M., Thursday, September 26, at Milan Church of God with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00P.M.

A native of Jacksonville, GA, Mr. Roberson was the son of the late Robert "Rob" and Macey Maria Roberson.  He was a member of Milan Church of God and loved gardening and fishing.  Mr. Roberson worked at Cook and Company and Amercord, before retiring from Sea Island Golf Course.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Zella Pearl Buckins Roberson and a grandson, Lane Roberson.

Survivors include his children, Shelia (Tim) Adams and Robert (Amy) Roberson, both of Lyons, and Samantha (Josh) Garland of Calhoun; stepchildren, Frank Watts, Sr. of Valdosta and Linda (Buddy) Hutchinson, Sr. of Hazlehurst; brother and sister, Shirley Horne of Milan and Cleveland Roberson of Scotland; special friend, Sudie Musselewhite of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Jed (Brogen) Adams, Madi Adams, Olivia (Derek) Champion, Emilee Roberson, Darby (Brandon) Collins, Wesley (Hannah) Garland and Aaron Garland; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
