Raymond Eugene Taylor passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014, after an extended illness.  Services will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, October 4, at Milan Baptist Church with Brother Aubrey Corbitt officiating, followed by a graveside service with Masonic rites at Milan Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
Ray was born on September 2, 1940 to the late Clyde and Melcina Durden Taylor and was a lifelong resident of Milan.  He graduated from Milan High School in 1958.  Ray was a member of Milan Baptist Church and retired from Robins Air Force Base after 26 years of government service.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #393 for 50 years, Telfair Chapter of Order of Eastern Star #373, and the Milan Lions Club.  Selected as 2014 Citizen of the Year, Ray was to receive this award on October 18, during the Milan Harvest Festival.
Ray is survived by his wife of 51 years, Glynda (Babe) Taylor of Milan; son, Greg (Sambo) Taylor of Phenix City, AL; granddaughter, Chasidy (Sunshine) Taylor, Eastman; grandson, Nick (Hawkeye) Taylor, Phenix City, AL; great-grandsons, Gabriel (Little Willie) Kittle and Ashton (Bunch) Kitchens, both of Eastman; sisters, Lois (Conrad) Wahl, Chauncey and Gail (Ron) Monroe, Milan.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Taylor of Milan.
