Patsy Ann (Blackmon) Spires

Patsy Ann Blackmon Spires, 80, of Helena, died Sunday, April 24, following a lengthy illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, April 28, at Bethlehem (Sandhill) United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, 5:00-7:00P.M.

A native of Blackshear, Mrs. Spires was the daughter of the late William Thomas Blackmon and the late Carrie Mae Dover Blackmon.  A homemaker for most of her life, she was quite artistic and enjoyed working with her hands and looking after her family.  Mrs. Spires was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Spires.

Survivors include her children, Sylvia Spires of Okeechobee, FL, Nancy (Bobby) Merriman of Live Oak, FL and Charles Spires of Helena; grandchildren, Tiffany (Trey) Marcum, Bobby Dale (Megan) Merriman, Jr. and Christopher (Jennifer) Merriman; and great-grandchildren, McKaylayn Jones, Collin Jones, Alyssa Marcum and Kristin Merriman.
