Matthew Douglas Maloy, 33, of Rhine, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012. Visitation will be at 2:30P.M., Wednesday, October 3, at China Hill Christian Church, with the funeral service following at 4:00P.M. Burial will be private.
Born in Telfair County to Harris and Margaret Maloy, he was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. On November 12, 2006, he was baptized at China Hill Christian Church. Matt was known for his strength and his strong work ethic, having farmed and established M&H Pine Straw following graduation. M & H Pine Straw is named for Matt and his father, Harris. Vivacious and full of life, he loved people and loved life. He will forever be missed.
Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, the late D.G. and Vivian Maloy and his maternal grandparents, the late J.C. and Cleo Anderson.
Survivors include his parents, Harris and Margaret Maloy, Rhine; sisters, Julie (Scotty) Wright, Erin Maloy and Jodi Maloy, all of Fitzgerald; niece and nephew, Matilyn Wright and Branson Wright, Fitzgerald; great aunt, Ruth Maloy, Rhine; and nurses, Mary Rushing and Daphene Singleton.
