Mrs. Josephine Pierce Parsons of Atlanta, Georgia, age 93, died February 19, 2015. Visitation will begin at 1:00P.M., Sunday, February 22, at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, followed by a graveside funeral service at 2:30P.M., in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Parsons was born October 20, 1921 in Alamo, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Council Pierce. She graduated from Wheeler County High School in 1938 and attended Brewton Parker College and Women’s College of Georgia. Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Robert Moore Parsons, of McRae, Georgia.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Barrow; her son, Robert M. Parsons, Jr.; two grandchildren, Sharon Bolesky, and Robert Parsons; three great-grandchilden, Alex Bolesky, Zoe Parsons, and Ada Parsons; two sisters, Margaret Hicks and Mildred Stinson; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Since 1999 her home has been Mount Vernon Towers in Sandy Springs, Georgia where she made numerous loving friends.
