Jim Fred Dover

Jim Fred Dover, 61, of McRae died Sunday, February 25, following an extended illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30A.M., Monday, February 26, at Fishing Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 10:30A.M.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Dover was the son of Elvin and Vivian Croteau Dover.  A heavy equipment operator for Telfair County for many years, he was also a lifelong farmer.  Mr. Dover attended Macedonia Baptist Church as his health allowed and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.  His grandchildren especially will miss him.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Dover and a granddaughter, Alana Land.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Haymons-Dover of McRae; daughters, Patty (Wesley) Land of Gray, Jessica (Andy) Pettis of Milan, Tiffany (Shannon) Spires and Cheyenne Dover, both of McRae; brother, Wayne (Donna) Dover of Alabama; and sister, Janice (Ray) Southerland of Dublin; and ten grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
