Jerry Daniel Hulett, 75, of Milan, died Saturday, December 30, following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:30P.M., Friday, January 5, at Vaughn Funeral Home, followed at 3:00P.M., by a graveside funeral service at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Telfair County, Mr. Hulett was the son of the late Daniel and Mary Ellen Wooten Hulett. A veteran of both the National Guard and the Army, he was a Sergeant with the Military Police and was a member of True Light Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. A proud father and grandfather, Mr. Hulett enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. He worked many areas of construction, including pipe fitting and welding and was the foreman overseeing the construction of one of the first ethanol plants in Georgia. Mr. Hulett was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Hulett and James "Monk" Hulett.
Survivors include his children, Susan (Michael) Sharpe of Uvalda, Mark Hulett of Moultrie, Victoria (Matthew) Taylor of Alma and Valarie (Josh) Spivey of Baxley; brothers and sisters, C.A. (Elene) Hulett of Fitzgerald, Mary (Raymond) Mullis and Ruth Holloway, both of Eastman, Tryphena (Donald) Renew of Milan, Rebecca (Johnny) Boston of Springfield, John Hulett of Milan and Sharon (Dale) Hefton of Thomaston; grandchildren, Deidre Brinkley, Jenna Brinkley, Kristen Sharpe, Jaxon Hulett, Wilson Hulett, Luke Hulett, Micheal Allen, Logan Allen, Gracie Allen, Leah Fisher, Joshua Spivey and Bryce Spivey; and great grandchildren, Jada Porter and Phoenix Ball. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at 238 United Church Rd., Milan, GA Thursday and Friday.
