James Kenneth Adams

It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we honor the life of James Kenneth Adams, who passed away on March 23, 2026. Born on March 19, 1945, in McRae, Georgia, James lived a life characterized by duty, dedication, and love for his family and country.

James answered the call to serve at a young age, joining the Army at just 17 years old. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, demonstrating courage and commitment in service to the nation. Following his military career, he devoted 26 years to Civil Service at Fort Hood, Texas, where his work left an enduring mark before his well-earned retirement.

His life was a testament to perseverance and devotion — qualities he carried through every chapter. A son of the late Eschol V. and Dorothy L. Adams, James is remembered with great affection by those who knew him best.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Ramona Adams, who stood faithfully by his side. Together, they raised a family that was the center of his world. His children, sons Kenty Adams and Dean Adams, and daughter Natasha Adams, continue his legacy through their own lives and accomplishments. He was also a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy.

James’s family circle extends to his brothers Randall Adams, Jed Adams, Clark Adams, and Eddie Adams, and his sisters Patsy Smith, Lynda Hatalla, and Kathy Helton, all of whom remember him fondly. The mother of his children, Bernadette Adams, shares in the tenderness of his memory.

We also remember with reverence those family members who preceded James in death: his sisters Janice Adams and brothers Carol and Vernon Adams. Their legacy remains part of the fabric of his extraordinary life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held to honor James’s memory on May 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Little Ocmulgee State Park in McRae, Georgia. Family, friends, and all who were touched by his life are invited to attend and pay tribute to a man who devoted himself eagerly to both country and family.

James Kenneth Adams lived a life of purpose and grace. His journey from a small town in Georgia to the battlefields of Vietnam and years of dedicated civil service embodies a legacy of strength, humility, and love. As we remember him, may his story inspire us to cherish our own commitments and the bonds of family so deeply held by him throughout his life.
