Jack Carlton Bowen

Jack Carlton Bowen, 82, of Jacksonville, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 30, following a lengthy illness.  A funeral service will be held at 4:00P.M., Sunday, October 3, at St. Paul Holiness Church followed by burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation is Saturday, 6:00 – 8:00P.M.  Masks are preferred for the visitation and funeral service.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Bowen was the son of the late Jack Geiger Bowen and the late Cora Giddens Bowen.  A U.S. Army veteran, he was a heavy equipment operator with J.E. Dopson & Sons and later with the Telfair County Road Department.  Mr. Bowen was a member of St. Paul Holiness Church and was the bass singer with the Bowen Family Quartet.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Bowen of Jacksonville; son, James (Cindy) Bowen of Helena; grandchildren, Tyler (Ginny) Bowen and Lindsey Bowen; and great-grandson, William Bowen.
