George Owen "Bucky" Hunt, Jr.

George Owen “Bucky” Hunt, Jr., 67, of McRae, died Monday, February 01, following a recent illness.  A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00A.M., Wednesday, February 3, at Telfair Memorial Gardens with visitation at Vaughn Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Hunt was the son of the late George Owen “Buck” Hunt, Sr. and Dorothy McLaughlin Hunt.  A US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was a member of McRae United Methodist Church and was employed with McRae Correctional Facility.  Mr. Hunt was also a co-owner of Hunt Bros. Auto Parts.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara M. Hunt, McRae; son, Mac Hunt, McRae; daughter, Amanda (Adam) Harris, Scotland; sisters, Sharon Weeks and Becky (Perry) Hamilton, both of McRae; brother, Sam (Lisa) Hunt, Ringgold; and grandchildren, Rachel Harris and Hunter Harris.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church of charity of choice.
