Fred Robert Haymons, Sr.
Fred Robert Haymons, Sr., died Tuesday, August 14. Funeral services will be at 10:00A.M., Friday, August 17, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Lumber City. Visitation is Thursday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Haymons was the son of the late Lucien and Zimmie Odom Haymons and was married to the late Willene Ward Haymons. He was a member of Lumber City Baptist Church and had retired as an agent with Independent Life Insurance Company. Mr. Haymons was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kay Haymons, and a son, Robert “Bob” Fred Haymons, Jr.
Survivors include his brother, Lofton Haymons, McRae; daughter-in-law, Lynn Haymons, Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Kandice (Brad) Purvis and Rob (Erin) Haymons, both of McRae; great-grandchildren, Kaydee Purvis, Emilee Purvis, Allie Haymons and Tenley Haymons, all of McRae; and several nieces and nephews.
