Frances (Stanley) Stevenson

Frances Stanley Stevenson, 79, of McRae, died Sunday, April 6.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, April 8, at Rockwell Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mrs. Stevenson was the daughter of the late Robert L. “Rob” and Mildred Williams Stanley.  She was retired after 34 years as District Secretary for the Forestry Commission and was a member of Rockwell Baptist Church, where she served as church pianist for many years.  Mrs. Stevenson was preceded in death by a step-son, Paul Mitchell Stevenson, III, and a brother, Howard Stanley.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Stevenson, McRae; step-son, Mike (Stephanie) Stevenson, Warrenton; brother and sister, Robert L. (Ruth) Stanley, Eastman and Mattie (Wendell) White, Milan; grandson, Mikie Stevenson; nephews, William Stanley, Lee Stanley, Rob Stanley, Clay Stanley and Stan White; several great-nieces and nephews, including the light of her life, Cale White; and a great-great-nephew.
