Ernest Dykes, Jr.

Ernest Dykes, Jr., 64, of Vidalia, died Saturday, September 11, following a brief illness.  A visitation will be held at 5:00P.M., Wednesday, September 15, at Telfair Memorial Gardens, McRae, followed at 5:30P.M., by the graveside funeral service.

A native of Telfair County, Mr. Dykes was the son of the late Ernest Dykes, Sr. and the late LaRue Yawn Dykes.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during Desert Storm, then further served in the National Guard.  Mr. Dykes was the owner and operator of technology companies, Digital Solutions and AG Robotics & Technology.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Dykes of Vidalia; daughters, Stephanie Dykes of Miami, FL and Katie Scott of Marietta; brother, Tim Dykes of McRae; grandchildren, Abby Dykes, Pippa Connell, Lance Connell, Maxwell Scott and Jaxon Scott; mother-in-law, Betty Richardson; and aunts Janet (Emory) Rogers and Shirley Leighton.  Numerous cousins, nephew, Josh Dykes and nieces, Mahalie Dykes and Amber (Nate) Selph also survive.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Toombs County 4-H Robotics, Attn: Cheryl Poppell, 298 N. Lexington Ave. Lyons, GA 30436-1040.
