Carolyn (Spires) Towns

Carolyn Spires Towns, 69, of McRae, died Thursday, January 21, following a brief illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00P.M., Thursday, January 28, at Midway Church Cemetery, Milan.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Ms. Towns was the daughter of the late Howard and Inez Logue Spires.  The co-founder of C.J.'s Flowers & Gifts, she had previously done floral work at Z-Mart and Winn-Dixie and Harvey's.  Ms. Towns was a member of McRae Church of God and was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Geneva Spires.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie (James) Spires and Jeanie’s father, Lonnie Towns of McRae; brothers, Jimmy (Jackie) Spires of McRae and Hardy (Maudlean) Spires of Milan; and grandchildren, Blayne (Alex) Spires of McRae and Kori Spires of McRae.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
