Bobby Laverne Grimes

Bobby Laverne Grimes, 84, of McRae, died peacefully Wednesday, June 7, following a brief illness.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, June 10, at Friendship Holiness Baptist Church with burial at Grimes Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, 6:00 - 8:00P.M.

A native of Wheeler County where he lived most of his life, Mr. Grimes was the son of the late Esker H. and Mary Anna Moore Grimes.  A member of Friendship Holiness Baptist Church, he worked in insurance sales for most of his life.  Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrea Gail Klostermeyer; brother, Charles Grimes; and sisters, Peggy Grimes and Linda Selph.

Survivors include his children, Kirk (Dawon) Grimes of Albuquerque, NM, Rick Harrison Grimes and Stanford Heath (Roberta) Grimes, both of Denver, CO; and brother, Wendell Grimes of McRae;  Fourteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
