Bessie Irene Carpenter Cason, 73, of Helena, died Wednesday, September 5. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00P.M., Saturday, September 8, in the Fishing Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mrs. Cason was the daughter of the late Leroy and Catherine Varnadoe Carpenter. She worked as an LPN at the Dodge and Telfair County Hospitals.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Cason, Helena; daughter, Billie Renee (Frank) Godfrey, Hazlehurst; son, Brian (Tammy) Cason, McRae; sisters, Edna Wells, Jean Williams and Rebena Williamson, Lakeland, FL, and Nona Hickox, Thomasville; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
