Bernard Harold Horne, Sr., 80, of Milan, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 13. A funeral service will be held at 3:00P.M., Saturday, October 16, at Milan Church of God followed by burial at the church cemetery. Visitation is Friday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native of Wheeler County, Mr. Horne was the son of the late T.W. and Mollie Harrelson Horne. An Air Force veteran, he was an electronics engineer at Robins Air Force Base for 35 years where he worked on F-100 fighter jets. Mr. Horne was an active member of Milan Church of God and was a member of the Telfair County Civil Defense Program. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Troy Horne, Jr., Lemmie Horne, Wauweeze Dennis and Ruby Towns.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Roberson Horne of Milan; children, Lisa (Mike) Harrell of Eastman; Bernie (Charlotte) Horne of Helena; brothers and sisters, Bobby (Jewell) Horne of Helena, Mary Sue (Quinton) Guin and Joanne (Dillon) Brown, both of Alamo, Ralph (Jean) Horne of Milan and Randal (Marilyn) Horne of Helena; grandchildren, Mindy Harrell of Istanbul, Turkey, Misty Harrell and Maci Harrell, both of Eastman, Christian (Katie) Horne and Hunter Horne, both of Helena; and Oaklynn Horne of Helena. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
