Audrey V. Beasley, born Audrey Varnadoe, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Milan, Georgia, following an extended illness. She was 88.
Born on October 7, 1937, in Lumber City, Georgia, Audrey was the daughter of George Varnadoe and Avis Yearty Varnadoe. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wesley Beasley, as well as by her parents, George and Avis Yearty Varnadoe.
Audrey leaves behind a circle of cherished special friends who held an important place in her life: Robert Evans, Harriett Evans, Peggy Lewis, Kay Walker, Henrietta Cameron, Rob Jones, Rita Williams, Dawson Evans, and niece, Jan Marchant and Misty Ferguson. Their friendship stands as a lasting reflection of the care, companionship, and connection she shared with those around her.
Audrey gave of her time, volunteering as a Pink Lady with the Dodge County Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Milan United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where she was active and taught Adult Sunday School for for than 40 years. A member of the 3M Methodist Choir and the 3M Methodist Women where she held the offices of both secretary and treasurer for several years. Audrey was a lifelong resident of Telfair County and was a past member of the Swingin' Violets Red Hat Society.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, followed at 11:00 a.m. by the funeral service. Burial will be at Milan Cemetery.
Audrey will be remembered with respect and affection by those who knew her, and her memory will remain dear to the friends and loved ones who mourn her passing.
