Adger Sessom Gillis

Adger Sessom "Winkie" Gillis, 77, of Clinton, OK, died Tuesday, September 10, following a lengthy illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, September 21, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Telfair County, Mr. Gillis was the son of the late Harvey Gillis and the late Josephine Lavender Gillis.  A former truck driver and a rancher, he was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and was of Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Gillis Jones on January 24, 2015; and a brother, Charles Terrell Gillis on August 10, 2024; and a nephew.

Survivors include his daughters, Melissa (Mann) Poole of Cypress, TX and Kimberly Kelly of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Luke (Melissa) McDuffie, Mark (Dana) McDuffie, Logan Dixon, Storm Dixon, Jonathon Padgett, Brandon Padgett, Ashley (Trey) Lee, Jaycee Poole, Christian Poole, Karstin (Taylor) Dorman, Dakota Poole and Andrew Poole; and twelve great-grandchildren.  Four nieces and a nephew also survive.
