Chad Edward "Plowboy" Spires, 43, of Alamo died suddenly Tuesday, March 28. A funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Friday, March 31, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial at Erick Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 6:00-8:00P.M., at the funeral home.
A native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County, Mr. Spires was the son of Derris Edward and Shelia Purvis Spires. He was a graduate of Wheeler County High School and was a member of Greater Vision Church Mr. Spires was a long time employee of BP Timber, LLC, loved hunting, fishing, and camping at the river, but especially loved his babies. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Billy Purvis, Mable Evans Purvis and Herman Jump.
Survivors include his children, Chason Reiff of Tallahassee, FL, Ross Spires, Addie Mae Spires, Evelyn Spires and Gus Spires, all of Helena; parents, Derris and Shelia Spires of Alamo; sister, Tiffany Spires (Kason Edwards) of Alamo; companion, Kandi Day of Alamo; grandmother, Mama Gail Jump of Uvalda; grandfather, Donnie Spires of Winterhaven, FL; and aunts and uncles, Randy (Gail) Purvis, Keith Purvis, Darlene (Clay) Phares and Dena (Carl) Claxton. A beloved fur baby, Stitch, also survives.
