Sheila Denise (Pickren) Powell

Sheila Denise Pickren Powell, 53, of McRae, died Friday, December 13.  A visitation will begin at 12:30P.M., Sunday, December 15, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2:00P.M..

A native of Hazlehurst, Ms. Powell was the daughter of Kenneth and Jeanette Duncan Johns and the late Johnny Pickren.  A traveling RN, she was employed with Georgia State Prisons prior to working with Global Diagnostics.

Survivors include her parents, Jeanette and Kenneth Johns of McRae; children, Miki (Ashley Shelton) Johns of McRae, Joshua (Bethany) Mims of Mobile, AL, Blake Spires of Jacksonville and Katie Spires of McRae; brother and sister, Jeffrey Pickren of Gray and Pam (Jason) White of Douglas; and grandchildren, Kodi Wilson, Charlee Johns, Rowynn Johns, Delilah Mims and Alaina Spires.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made towards the funeral expense.
