Mary Willene Cravey Marchant, 88, of Milan, died Friday, November 1 following a lengthy illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Sunday, November 3, in the chapel of Vaughn funeral Home, McRae, with burial at Milan Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
A native and lifelong resident of Milan, Ms. Cravey was the daughter of the late Max Lamar Cravey and the late Ruby Shepherd Cravey. A self-employed professional seamstress, she also worked with Roydon Wear and other factories as a seamstress and a trainer. Ms. Marchant was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she was a choir member for numerous years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley “Doodle” Marchant; sister, Catherine Taylor; and a baby boy.
Survivors include her children, Dudley (Darlene) Marchant of Warner Robins, Dean Marchant (Kim Clark) of Abbeville and Vickie Raffield of Glenwood; brothers and sisters, Lamar Cravey of Milan, Margaret McCollough of McRae, Eugenia Gore of Lumber City and John Robert Cravey of Milan; grandchildren, Tammy Hodges, Alli Kerr, Jessica Marchant, Dean Marchant, Jr., Andy Richardson, Joni Powell and April Barfield; great-grandchildren, Evans Hodges, Mary Wilhelmina Hodges, Layne Hattaway, Brandon Randall, Harleigh Kash Marchant, Carson Overstreet, Jordan Powell, Mason Powell, Jonathan Powell, Thomas Richardson, Andrew Richardson, Peyton Barfield, Mara Powell, Alex Richardson and Avery Richardson; and a great-great-grandchild, Lelan Hattaway.
