Lena Hulett Blizzard, 96, of Jacksonville, GA, died Tuesday, January 8. A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Friday, January 11, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with visitation an hour prior. A committal service will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, January 12, at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Douglasville.
A native of Telfair County, where she lived most of her life, Ms. Blizzard was the daughter of the late Joe and Lottie Wagstaff Hulett and was the wife of the late Guy Lane Blizzard. She was a faithful member of Blockhouse Baptist Church and was a retired welder with Hitco of Atlanta. Ms. Blizzard was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Henson; granddaughter, Sharon Henson; great-grandson, Andrew Cash; and brothers and sisters, Ruth Selph, Horace Hulett, Grady Hulett, Hubert Hulett, Harold Hulett, Fred Hulett, Myrtle Rawlins and Irene Hulett.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara Ann (Virgil) Brownlee of Snellville and Marguerite Hill of Douglasville; sisters, Mildred (Robert) Collins of Macon and Betty (Bill) Cook of Griffin; grandchildren, Hulon Brownlee, Robina (Terry) Harper, Connie Brownlee, Dawn (Kenny) Veinot, Steve Henson, Lori Hill and Jeff (Brandy) Hill; great-grandchildren, Kristie Brownlee, Jami Lynn Brownlee, Debra Erin Brownlee, Nichole Cash, Garin Veinot, Malena Veinot, Piper Hill, Jeffrey Elliott, Cassidy Elliott, Heather Harper and Shane (Meagan) Harper; and a great-great-granddaughter, Harlow Harper. Nieces and nephews also survive.
