Jettie Spires Knowles, 94, of McRae, died Wednesday, March 21.  Funeral services will be at 3:00P.M., Saturday, March 24, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mrs. Knowles was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ada Renew Spires and was the wife of the late George Felix Knowles. She was a faithful church member of Southside Baptist Church and she worked tirelessly for her Lord. Mrs. Knowles was always ready to lend a helping hand to her neighbors and her house was always a favorite with the neighborhood children.  Along with being a dedicated homemaker, she also worked with Roydon Wear for 25 years.
Survivors include her son, Raymond (Maxine) Knowles, Helena; daughters, Eloise Pickard, Adairsville and Frances (Gene) Skipper, Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Norman (Helen) Skipper, Jacksonville, FL and Tori (Troy) Brookins, McRae; step-grandchildren, Cindy Conley, Helena and Candi (Jason) Lann, Eastman; 7 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Active Pallbearers included Michael Knowles, Carey Knowles, Randy Knowles, Wayne “Cotton” Jones, Josh Skipper, Garrett Skipper and Norman Skipper.
