Gene Calvin Garmon, Jr.

Gene Calvin Garmon, Jr., 61, of Mt. Vernon, died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, September 22, following an extended illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Monday, September 30, at Middleton Memorial Cemetery, Ludowici, GA.  Visitation will be 6:00-9:00P.M., Sunday at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae.

A native of Atlanta, Mr. Garmon was the son of the late Gene Calvin Garmon, Sr. and the late Pat Brown Garmon.  He was a construction worker.

Survivors include his wife, Mary H. Armstrong of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Katye (Jarrett) Ward of Atlanta; adopted daughter, Victoria Conner of Mt. Vernon; sister, Connie Howell of Rutledge; granddaughter, Ava Ward; and five adopted grandchildren.
