Eugene Talmadge Howard, 78, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019, following a brief illness. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, August 17, at Clements Cemetery at Mt. Galilee. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 9:00P.M., Friday.
A native of Dodge County, Mr. Howard was the son of the late Edgar and Sibyl Lowie Howard. He had worked with the Department of Commerce, St. Regis Paper Company and Champion Company. Mr. Howard had served several years in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of Mt. Galilee Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Ray Howard of Jacksonville; children, Susan H. (Kenneth) Hart of Jacksonville, Gina H. (John) Ashley of Helena and Vicki H. (Jamie) Hussey, of Jacksonville; sisters, Madelene H. Sapp of Perry, Velma H. Cameron of McRae, Sylvia H. Smith of Helena and David Howard of Chauncey; grandchildren, Robbie (Stacey) Hart, Lesli H. (Chris) Evans, Linsey S. (Josh) Groth, Dilan (Brooke) Ashley, Emily Hussey, E.J. Hussey and Raygan Hussey; and great-grandchildren, Lily Hart, Sam Hart, Kendall Evans, Emerson Evans, Braylen Groth, Grayson Groth, Ethan Groth and Kinsley Ashley.
