Harry White, Jr., 96, of Alamo, passed peacefully Friday, January 5, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, after a brief illness. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00P.M., Sunday, January 7, at Scotland City Cemetery with visitation at the cemetery one hour prior to the service. Pastor Andy Brownley will officiate.
Mr. White was born January 18, 1927, in Alamo, GA to the late James Harris White and the late Sadie Adams White. He was a farmer. Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Bernice Crafton White; his second wife, Pauline Manus White; special friend, Ann Owens; and grandson, Elliott White. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Eschol White, Julian White, Truett White, Mildred White Mimbs and Preston White.
Survivors include his sons, Garland (Marty) White of Alamo and Wayne (Teresa) White of Dexter; grandchildren, Vanessa (Jason) Weaver of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Adam White of Dexter and Morgan White of Dexter; great-grandchildren, Dylan Weaver and Alyssa Weaver, both of Jacksonville Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
