Onita Dean-Varnadoe, 87, of McRae, died Thursday, June 8.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00P.M., Saturday, June 10, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Lumber City.  Visitation is Friday, 6:30-8:30P.M.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Ms. Varnadoe was the daughter of the late Seward and Georgie Hulett Brewer.  She was the wife of the late Fletcher Dean and the late James Talmadge Varnadoe, and was employed with the Telfair County School System.  Ms. Varnadoe was preceded in death by a son, Billy Dean.

Survivors include her daughter, Nita Dean (Gary) Vickers of McRae; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Dean of Jonesboro; sisters, Lucille Martin of Centerville, Kay Tarpley of Hazlehurst and Barbara Scott of McRae; grandchildren,  Dennis Dean, Terrie Dean Giles, Bobby Landmesser, Rusty Williams, Tyler Vickers, Laila Vickers and Rex Williams Starley; and great-grandchildren, Ben Giles, Evan Giles, Mitch Dean and Abigail Dean.
